Turn a favorite photo of your animal into a one-of-a-kind graphite and charcoal drawing.

Each portrait is hand-drawn with attention to the little details, expressions, and features that make your animal uniquely yours. Whether you're looking to capture one special animal or a few together, I'd love to help create something you'll enjoy for years to come.

How the Process Works

1. Choose Your Portrait

Select the size and number of animals you'd like included from the available custom portrait listings.

2. Upload Your Photos & Complete Your Purchase

Upload your animal's photographs directly with your order. You can submit multiple photos for consideration.

3. Photo Review & Approval

I'll personally review your submissions and contact you by email, typically within 2–3 business days. We'll discuss which photo will work best, along with any background preferences. I'll make sure you're happy with the reference selection before beginning your portrait.

4. The Drawing Begins!

Once your reference photo is approved, I'll get to work bringing your portrait to life. This can take anywhere from 1-6 weeks depending on the queue

5. Completion & Shipping

Before shipping, I will email a photo of your completed drawing for approval. Your finished portrait will be carefully packaged and shipped directly to you through USPS.

  • 11 × 14 inch drawings will be shipped in a protective mailing envelope with rigid backing to help prevent bending during transit.
  • 19 × 24 inch drawings will be carefully rolled and shipped in a sturdy protective mailing tube to help prevent damage during transit.
  • Drawings shipped in protective mailing tubes will be carefully rolled for transit. Some curling is normal upon arrival. Allow the artwork a few days to naturally relax and flatten before framing. Please handle it gently when unpacking and avoid forcing it flat.

Framing

Unfortunately, I don't offer framing for original drawings at this time. All original artwork is shipped unframed. Each drawing includes an approximately 1-inch blank border around the artwork, which should be taken into consideration when selecting a frame or mat. You'll need to arrange framing separately after receiving your piece.

Local Pickup - Custom Portraits Only

Custom drawings are available for local pickup in Lancaster, Ohio. 

If you're ordering a custom portrait and would like to pick it up locally, use code PICKUP at checkout.

Once your portrait is complete, I'll email you with the pickup address so we can arrange a convenient date/time.

Please note: Local pickup is only available for custom drawings. 

All fine art prints are fulfilled and shipped directly through a third-party printing service and are not available for local pickup.

Choose Your Portrait Size

11 × 14 inches | Single Animal

A classic-sized portrait featuring one animal. A great option for capturing your favorite photo in a detailed, hand-drawn piece.

19 × 24 inches | Up to Three Animals

A larger format with room for up to three animals in one composition. Perfect for featuring multiple pets together.

Both options are drawn in graphite and charcoal on premium-quality paper and include a Certificate of Authenticity.

Choosing the Right Photo

The reference photo plays an important role in the finished portrait. Clear, high-resolution images with good lighting and visible details generally produce the best results.

Not sure which photo to use? That's okay! You can upload several options, and I'll help determine which will work best.

For portraits featuring multiple animals, they should ideally be pictured together in the same photograph. If you have separate photos, please contact me before ordering to discuss whether they can be combined. This may be possible in some cases, but cannot be guaranteed.

A Few Things to Know

  • All portraits are original, hand-drawn artwork created from your submitted photographs.
  • Each portrait includes a one-inch border for framing and presentation.
  • Solid background options can be discussed during the photo approval process.
  • Please allow 1–6 weeks from the date of purchase for your portrait to be completed and shipped, depending on the current order queue.
  • Finished commissioned portraits are made exclusively for the customer and are not reproduced or sold as prints.
